Over time, there have been fundamental changes in food retailing. The priority of fresh and hygienically high quality products has led to rapid growth and development in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and food labelling.

FOOD PRESERVATION

The preservation of perishable foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, fruit, etc. is basically limited by the effects of atmospheric oxygen and the growth of micro-organisms that cause spoilage. The refrigerated storage of perishable foods is not sufficient for the requirements of current distribution that need to extend the life of the product as well as high demands in terms of handling, presentation and display at the point of sale.

The gas composition of the air is:

78.03% Nitrogen | 20.99% Oxygen | 0.94% Argon | 0.03% Carbon Dioxide | 0.015 Hydrogen

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND STORAGE

With the use of COEX (Coextruded Plastic Films) multilayer polymer materials for MAP packaging capable of preserving and selecting gas levels within the package other than the gaseous composition of the air, the shelf life of the products is increased.

The range of our multilayer films provide different barrier properties against the most common gases O2, CO₂,N2, as well as for water vapour H20.
